NDIS Respite Care
Informal carers, the parents, siblings, partners, and friends who provide daily disability support outside the formal system, often go without a proper break for months or years at a time. NDIS respite care exists to change that. At People’s First Choice Australia, we deliver respite that carers can actually trust, which means participants are engaged, safe, and well-supported the entire time. A break only counts if everyone can actually relax.

What Good Respite Looks Like at PFCA
We refuse to treat respite as a passive holding arrangement. When a participant is in our care, we treat that time as an opportunity to engage them in activities they enjoy, build connections with their support team, and have experiences that are genuinely positive. The participant benefits. The carer comes back to a person who had a good time, not just a person who waited.
Respite arrangements can be funded through the Short-Term Accommodation (STA) line of a participant’s NDIS plan. Our team works with participants and support coordinators to plan, book, and manage respite stays in a way that fits naturally into the broader support picture.
